Real Landscapes is built around a team of highly skilled and experienced landscaping professionals who will give you personal service. At Real Landscapes, you’ll be dealing directly with the people who make the decisions and who take responsibility for delivering to your satisfaction.
Our two principals, Gary Sparks and Grant Maskell, have more than 50 years’ experience in landscape design, building and maintenance in three countries. Their respective skills as horticulturist and construction manager complement each other perfectly to deliver integrated landscaping solutions. After years of working together for other companies, they decided the best way to realise their vision and deliver landscaping services as it should be, is to do it under their own banner.

Grant Maskell is an experienced contracts and construction manager with experience working in South Africa, the UK and New Zealand.
Our Story
Our two principals, Gary Sparks and Grant Maskell, have more than 50 years’ experience in landscape design, building and maintenance across three countries. Their respective skills as Horticulturist and construction manager compliment each other perfectly to deliver integrated landscaping solutions.
After working together, they found they shared the same values, standards and drive for delivering quality outcomes. With a shared vision for a full service landscape company that could design, install and maintain softscape and hardscape installations, they joined forces to start Real Landscapes.
